What it is
Towner is not another aggregator that taxes the driver. It is a mobility company in Bengaluru whose driver app (digital meter, fares, invoices, KYC, subscriptions) and OIOT rider app (booking, live tracking, emergency alerts) are designed so drivers keep 100% of the fare and riders see government-aligned pricing.
I work across Flutter apps, NestJS APIs, real-time trip flow, PostGIS location, Redis, RabbitMQ, payments, admin, and AWS. The product has to be boringly reliable: meters, receipts, and presence cannot fail at 11pm in traffic.
Why I built it
Ride-hailing in India often means opaque commissions and fares drivers cannot explain. Towner’s model needed software that treats the driver as an independent business—meter, invoice, subscription—while still giving riders a modern booking and tracking experience.
Whom it is for
Towner Solutions Pvt Ltd — for independent taxi drivers and riders in India, with operations and compliance teams using the admin and cloud stack.
Aim
Run trips, meters, earnings, and rider booking as one production system with transparent fares and live location you can trust.
Goal
A commission-free platform that is as operationally solid as the aggregators, without taking a cut of the driver’s work.
Hope
That drivers can run a legitimate digital business on their phone, and riders can book without wondering who is taking 20% in the middle.
